Arcania has been producing exclusively estate grown wines using biological agricultural methods which exclude the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and synthetic insecticides since 1997. Respecting both the environment and the customer has always been the estate’s main objective, and following years of trials and experimentation it has launched a range of wines which do not contain sulfites, soon becoming the main European producer. The cellar is located within an enchanting medieval hamlet, and the Castle, at the hamlet’s centre, has become the brand which identifies the wines themselves. The vineyards stretch over the Friuli Grave and Colli Orientali del Friuli Doc regions.

TASTING NOTES
Brilliant straw yellow in color with floral aromas and hints of tropical fruits that carry through to the palate.  Intense fruit and good acidity, combined with a pleasant and persistent finish, make this a very enjoyable Pinot Grigio.

FOOD PAIRING
Sip as an aperitif or pair with grilled halibut,  fresh oysters, chicken pasta in a pesto cream sauce, and creamy cheeses such as goat cheese and fresh mozzarella.

Serving Temperature:  14 – 16° C

WINEMAKING
Our limited production Pinot Grigio is made with grapes from carefully selected vineyard blocks. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 18° C.  The wine was aged on lees to add depth and complexity, and help stabilize and protect the wine until bottling.  Carefully grown grapes combined with our unique winemaking techniques and astute attention during vinification allowed us to completely eliminate the addition of sulfur dioxide in this wine.
